Carnivore Milkshake

After getting home from a split training session at the Dojang, I had a total hankering for icy milk! Naturally, I decided to make a Carnivore Milkshake full of protein without any added processed sugar, artificial sweeteners, fillers, or preservatives. It was super easy to make with ingredients I already had stocked in the house and was also a great way to use up ice in the freezer. I am a huge fan of protein powder! Ever since my Dad took me to the supplement store to buy it for me when I was in 7th grade and started playing sports – I have been hooked! (basketball and track). A nice refreshing shake after a hard training session or manual labor on the farm does absolute wonders and makes me feel like a million bucks!
Milk and dairy products naturally are FULL of electrolytes and a great way for humans to replace these minerals after exercise. Cow’s milk is full of calcium, potassium, salt, and magnesium. 1 cup of whole milk contains 300mg of calcium, 366mg of potassium, 93mg of salt, and 27mg of magnesium. These electrolytes are vital for regulating the neurological system, keeping the body’s pH levels in check, and preserving hydration. Because cow’s milk contains both electrolytes and macronutrients, it can be a convenient post-workout electrolyte drink for those who exercise vigorously. It’s crucial to remember that not everyone can consume cow’s milk, such as those who are lactose intolerant. But if you can, I definitely recommend having a high intake of dairy on the carnivore diet if you train a lot or do a lot of manual labor!

FAQs
What is the best protein powder to use if I cannot make any?
I would recommend making your own, but I totally understand how life can get in the way. Any keto or low carb protein powder would be best. Optimum Nutrition I believe is the best deal and quality unless you make it yourself at home.
