Carnivore Soft Serve Ice Cream

Love ice cream? Then, this carnivore soft serve ice cream is for you! Creamy, sweet, and wholesome – it is the perfect treat! Ice cream in the store is full of sugars, fillers, gums, stabilizers, and many chemicals like propylene glycol. Some popular brands cannot even be called “ice cream” but rather a “frozen dairy dessert” because they do not meet the legal requirement or definition of ice cream. Yet, these frozen desserts are marketed as full on ice cream with misleading advertising that says they are made with “real cream and milk”.

Forget the store-bought nonsense, buy an ice cream maker and make the real deal without added sugars! It will save you money in the long run as well as your health from running into problems consuming weird ingredients from store bought manufacturers. Cuisinart makes a solid ice cream maker for $99.99 that also makes frozen yogurts and sorbets. It has a 2.0-quart capacity, easy to put together, and the simplest clean up. Plus, recipes are beyond simple, and any 8-year-old can make ice cream in as little as 25 minutes.

What You Will Need to Make a Carnivore Soft Serve Ice Cream:

  • Heavy Whipping Cream
  • Whole Milk
  • Sea Salt

Optional Carnivore Soft Serve Ice Cream (these make it dirty carnivore):

  • Sugar Substitute (allulose, monk fruit cut with erythritol, xylitol, ect)
  • Vanilla Extract (infused with Vanilla Kush optional)

Equipment:

  • Cuisinart 2 QT Ice Cream Maker or ice cream maker of your choice
  • Measuring Cups
  • Measuring Spoons
  • Frosting Bag with Wide Tips (only if you want it to look like soft serve ice cream out of a machine, otherwise omit)

Substitutions:

  • Any strain substitute for Vanilla Kush. When preparing this recipe, I would recommend pairing strains that possess sweet cream like terpenes and flavonoids. The following cultivars would be ideal: Vanilla OG, Vanilla Frosting, or Vanilla Bean. If you do not have access to these strains, then use your nose and taste buds to find other cultivar’s that have similar smell and flavor profiles.

Love ice cream? Then, this Carnivore Soft Serve Ice Cream is for you! Creamy, sweet, and wholesome – it is the perfect treat!

Ingredients

  • 2 Cups Heavy Whipping Cream

  • 1 Cup Whole Milk

  • 2 Pinches Pink Himalayan Sea Salt

  • Optional Dirty Carnivore Ingredients (you DO NOT have to add)
  • 1 Tablespoon Vanilla Extract (infused with Vanilla Kush optional)
1/2 cup to 3/4 cup Sugar-Free Sweetener (powdered – do not use granulated or the ice cream will have a crunchy texture. Add to taste.)

Directions

  • Chill your ice cream maker canister or freezer bowl in the freezer for at least 24hrs
  • In a bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, and sea salt. Then add the optional ingredients of vanilla extract and powdered sugar-free substitute that you wish to use. Whisk until the mixture is combined and the sugar-free substitute is fully dissolved. Chill in the refrigerator at minimum 2 hours or overnight while your canister freezes completely.
  • Set up your ice cream maker when you are ready to make it. Put the chilled canister into the maker, insert the paddle, and then pour in the ice cream mix into the freezer bowl. Turn the ice cream maker on and let it run 25 minutes or until the ice cream thickens into a soft serve.
  • Turn off the maker, scrape out the ice cream, and serve in ice cream bowls. You can put the ice cream into a piping bag with a large tip to create the look of a soft serve ice cream right out of a soft serve machine if desired. Pipe into a bowl and decorate with fruit toppings for your kiddos or guests.

Notes

  • Cannabis is technically not Carnivore; however, I see plants as medicine as long as they are extracted correctly and used only when needed.

FAQs

Can I make this without weed?
Of course! These recipes taste amazing both infused and not!

Why Cannabis?
When our body is homeostasis, it has no need for cannabis as it is happy. But if negative environmental, lifestyle, genetics, stress, diet and nutrition, alcohol consumption, or health factors are present, the system can become unbalanced, and we now have an endocannabinoid deficiency. This results in things like migraines, fibromyalgia, mood disorders, behavior problems, anxiety, depression, bowl issues, and metabolic issues like not being able to lose weight.

Using cannabis as medicine can restore this balance in the body when combined with a proper carnivore diet. With the goal being, to eventually transition off the cannabis. Think of cannabis as a little dirty carnivore helper, that is going to be the last plant you see before you are 100% successful and in homeostasis. And also think of it as a tool to put in your back pocket in case the unfortunate event of environmental disease or infection (cold or infection) in the future causes your body to fall out of homeostasis again. Life happens. Just remember, cannabis is medicine so use it wisely.

Do I have to add sugar-free sweeteners to the Carnivore Ice Cream?
No! However, for the best sweetness and texture to resemble traditional ice cream, I would recommend adding this to the ice cream mix. Just be sure to powder the sugar substitute in a blender before adding, otherwise it will add a very grainy texture.

How to store Carnivore Soft Serve Ice Cream?
It is recommended to store the Carnivore Soft Serve Ice Cream in a covered glass container in the freezer. Pull out from the freezer when you want to serve and place on the counter to defrost for at least 5 minutes. Once the ice cream has been put into the freezer, it will become harder.

How Long Does It Last?
The carnivore soft serve ice cream will last in the freezer for up to a month for maximum freshness!
